How to Save and Submit Grades in Synergy K-12

Step-by-Step

Grades K-5

  1. Ensure you are in TeacherVUE and select Report Card from the blue bar.
     
  2. There are a few different things to take note of in the below screenshot:
    1. Ensure you are viewing the correct and current Marking Period.
       
    2. The Mark All Complete button will mark every student listed below as complete and move them to the right side of the screen - to the Complete side.
       
    3. The Mark All Not Complete button will mark every student listed below it as not complete and move them to the left side of the screen - the Incomplete side.
       
    4. This progress bar will tell you how many report cards have been marked as complete our of that specific class. 
       
    5. If there is an Inactive student by the time report cards are due, and they have been assigned to your class for more than 10-15 days, they more than likely require a report card.
      • Select Options > and select Show Inactive Students
         
  3. Next, select a student that needs to be graded (left-hand side of screen).
     
  4. There are a few options to choose from on the below screenshot:

     
    1. Enter in grades for the current marking period.
       
    2. Select Save/Mark Complete. This ensures the students grades are saved and completed.
       
    3. Selecting Save/Back to List, will save the grades, then take you back to the student grid to select a new student. Does not mark them as completed.
       
    4. Selecting Save/Continue, will save the grades, then bring you to the next alphabetical student. Does not mark them as completed.
       
  5. If you selected Save/Back to List or Save/Continue, those students grades need to be Marked as Complete at some point. Follow the instructions below:
     
    1. You can mark individual students as complete by selecting the green arrow next to the students name. This moves them to the right-side of the screen.
       
    2. You can mark the whole class as complete by selecting the button Mark All Complete. This moves them to the right-side of the screen too.
       
  6. If you accidentally marked a student/class as complete follow the directions below: 
     
    1. Select the green arrow next to the students name to move them back to the left-side of the screen, to mark them as not complete.
       
    2. Select the Mark All Not Complete button, to move all the students to the left-side of the screen, to mark them as not complete.
       
    3. Remember to move them back to the right-side once you have entered in grades.
       
  7. Once all students have been moved to the right-side of the screen, you have completed report cards. 

Grades 6-12

  1. Ensure you are in TeacherVUE and select Report Card from the blue bar.
     
  2. When you have selected the correct Marking Period, enter in grades by selecting the green buttons Edit Grades and Edit Grades and Comments. 
     
    1. Ensure you are in the correct marking period
       
    2. Steps 2-4 - depending on what column you need to grade, select one of the three green buttons.
       
  3. After entering in grades for the column, you can do one of two things:
     
    1. Select the green Post button. This will post the students grades, marking the report cards as complete.
       
    2. OR Select the green Save Changes button. This will save grades and take you back to the homepage.
       
  4. If you select the green Post button, you will know the students grades were posted and completed when you see a date and timestamp under the grade.
     
  5. If you selected the green Save Changes button, you will notice no timestamps are posted under the grades. This means you have not posted or completed report cards.
     
    1. Select the green Post button after all required columns are filled out to ensure grades are posted and completed.
