How to Prevent Students from Rejoining Google Meet After Class

To ensure students cannot re enter or remain in a Google Meet session after class ends, please follow these best practices. This guide includes options for Meet, Classroom, and Calendar.

1. Turn Off Quick Access in Google Meet

- Start your Google Meet session.
- Click the shield icon (đź”’) at the bottom right (Host controls).
- Toggle OFF the setting labeled “Quick Access.”

When Quick Access is OFF:
• Students cannot join before you.
• Students cannot rejoin after you leave.

2. End the Call for Everyone

- When class ends, click the red phone icon to leave.
- Choose “End the call for everyone” when prompted.

This removes all participants and prevents reentry.

3. Use Google Classroom to Manage Meet Links

- Go to your class in Google Classroom.
- Click the Settings (⚙️) icon.
- Under Meet, click “Generate meet link.”
- After class:
   • Toggle visibility OFF to hide the link from students.
   • Or click “Remove link” to disable it completely.

4. Use Google Calendar to Schedule Meets

- Go to Google Calendar.
- Click Create and enter title, date, and time.
- Click “Add Google Meet video conferencing.”
- Add your students or class group in the Guests section.
- Save and send the invite.

When using Calendar, only invited participants can join, and they cannot reenter once the host leaves.

You can also enable the option **'Host must join before anyone else'** when scheduling via Calendar. This setting ensures that no participant can enter the meeting until the teacher
