Summary

A basic overview of the setup and use of a Papercut copier machine.

Step-by-Step

 

Badge Set Up

Badge set up only needs to be performed at first time use. Once completed, you can scan your badge to access printing and scanning features at any Papercut machine in the district.

  1. Begin by signing in- swipe your badge on the badge reader with the red ‘Tap Here’ sticker.
  2. After swiping you will see the following screen:

  3. Enter the username and password that you use to sign-in to your district computer.  The username must be all lowercase.
  4. After entering your username and password, select ‘Set’. If the information entered is valid, then your card is now associated with your account.
Please note: If you receive an error, it is typically due to an incorrect password OR improper casing in the username. Try again being sure to enter the username using only lowercase letters and entering the password the same as you would when signing in to your computer

Printing

The Print Anywhere printer will be automatically installed on your district computer and will be set as the default option for printing. You will see it listed with any other printers you have installed in settings with the name ‘Print Anywhere on admin-prt-svr’.

  1. Print as you normally would, selecting the "Print Anywhere on admin-prt-svr".
  2. When sending a print job to the ‘Print Anywhere’ printer the job will be held in a queue for 24 hours, it will not print automatically.
  3. To release the print job walk to the nearest printer with a badge reader, swipe your badge.
  4. You can select ‘Print all’ to begin printing all pending jobs immediately, or you can select ‘Print Release’.
  5. On the "Print Release" screen, you can select the check box for each document you would like to print.
  6. When you’re all set with printing, select the option to log out. (Or you will be logged out automatically after 45 seconds).

Scanning

Scanning to Your H: Drive

  1. Swipe your badge on the badge reader with the ‘Tap Here’ sticker to sign in.
  2. On the touch screen panel, select the "Scan" button to view the scanning options.
  3. Select ‘Scan to Home Folder’ to send the scan to the folder labeled ‘Scans’ in your home drive (H:/ Drive).
  4. After selecting scan to home folder you will see the screen below. Here you have the option to adjust the file name and scan settings before starting the scan.

  5. After reviewing the name and settings, you also have the option to prompt for more pages to scan (next to the start button). Once everything has been set correctly, select ‘Start’ to begin the scan. Once complete, you will receive an email stating that your scan is on the way.
  6. When you’re all set with scanning, select the option to log out. (Or you will be logged out automatically after 45 seconds).

Scanning to Email

  1. Swipe your badge on the badge reader with the ‘Tap Here’ sticker to sign in.
  2. On the touch screen panel, select the "Scan" button to view the scanning options.
  3. Select the option to "Scan to My Email".
  4. After selecting ‘Scan to My Email’, you will see the screen below. Here you have the option to adjust the file name and scan settings before starting the scan.

  5. Once complete, you will receive a scan to your district email from copier@lansingschools.net.
  6. When you’re all set with scanning, select the option to log out. (Or you will be logged out automatically after 45 seconds).

Scanning to Google Drive

  1. Swipe your badge on the badge reader with the ‘Tap Here’ sticker to sign in.
  2. On the touch screen panel, select the "Scan" button to view the scanning options.
  3. Next, select "Google".
  4. On the next screen, you can adjust the file name and settings, when ready select "Start".
  5. When you’re all set with scanning, select the option to log out. (Or you will be logged out automatically after 45 seconds).
  6. Next, an email will be sent to your district email address that looks like the image below:

  7. To authorize the scans from the PaperCut MF application to go to your Google Drive, select the green button labeled "Login to Google Drive".
  8. Sign in with your district username and password for Google.
  9. You may get a window that looks similar to below:
    A pop-up window, asking for the user to "allow" Papercut to access their Google Drive.
  10. Select the option to allow access, if authorization is successful, you will see a success window.
  11. Once complete, you will receive the following email and all future scans sent to Google Drive will be sent automatically.

Scanning to OneDrive

  1. Swipe your badge on the badge reader with the ‘Tap Here’ sticker to sign in.
  2. On the touch screen panel, select the "Scan" button to view the scanning options.
  3. Next select "One Drive".
  4. On the next screen, you can adjust the file name and settings, when ready select "Start".
  5. When you’re all set with scanning, select the option to log out. (Or you will be logged out automatically after 45 seconds).
  6. Next, an email will be sent to your district email address that looks like the image below:

  7. To authorize the scans from the PaperCut MF application to go to your OneDrive, select the green button labeled "Login to OneDrive".
  8. Sign in with your username and password for email.
  9. You may get a window that looks similar to below:

  10. Select the option to allow access, if authorization is successful, you will see a success window.
  11. Once complete, you will receive the following email and all future scans sent to Google Drive will be sent automatically.

Copying

  1. Swipe your badge on the badge reader with the ‘Tap Here’ sticker to sign in.
  2. On the touch screen panel, select the "Device Functions" button.
  3. Next, you will see a screen where you can select a multitude of options. Adjust as needed.
  4. Place the original in the feeder.
  5. When you are ready, press the physical blue "Start" button, located below the touch screen panel.
